In what part of our bodies do we feel we are putting down roots in Berlin, as migrants? This question was the guiding thread of our workshop. As people started to arrive, they found a guide titled 'How to Make a Cyanotype.' Cyanotype is an alternative photographic technique that, like many creative processes, is prone to error.
What fascinates me most about this technique is its unpredictability; we can only see the result at the very end of the process. In this, I see a clear metaphor for the migratory journey: only with time can we truly understand what we have built and where we are headed.
